WHAT IS INKSTERINC?
We’re more than a website! InksterInc is a community. Our community consists of Artists, Videographers, DJs, Musicians, Charites, the Inkster Team, two babies, a corgi named Dale, and of course you, our awesome customers! We strive to create community impact apparel - which is really a fancy way of saying we aim to give back to the Inkster Community through the sale of our high quality, graphically rad, user submitted designs! Pretty neat huh?
HEY, I DO ART! CAN I BE AN ARTIST ON YOUR SITE?
NO! Nahhhh, just kidding, we’d love to have you! In fact, without our artists, we wouldn’t even have a site. We love our artists. You are really the ink soaked heart that pumps this crazy community! And yes, anyone is welcome!
HOW MUCH MONEY WILL I MAKE?
You get 20% of every product that sells. This one is pretty simple! If we sell a product with your design, you get paid. We’ll handle printing, shipping, and any other nonsense, you just keep on designing and promoting! PLUS, when your item is on sale, you will still get the FULL RATE of the full price item.
Here’s what each product costs and what you’ll get:
T-Shirts cost $20 and you get $4.
Hoodies cost $35 and you get $7.
Totes cost $15 and you get $3.
Our prices and payment are streamlined so that you get the same percentage for every product, and you’ll get more for products that cost more.
WHEN/HOW WILL I GET PAID?
PayPal. All hail PayPal. Giver of the cash. Your sales for each month will be paid the first week of the following month (by the 10th).
DO I STILL GET PAID DURING SALES?
Absolutely! During our site wide sales we reduce the price of our shirts (usually to $15), and artists continue to recieve the standard $4. Our sales are a great opportunity to promote your work because they bring a lot of new customers to the site. We'll always let you know a sale is coming up so that you can let your fans and followers know, or so you can buy your own stuff at a super discounted rate. We’re pretty chill like that.
DO YOU PROMOTE THE SHIRTS?
We do promote shirts! We share our artists’ work all over social media (so follow us to share/retweet/reblog your products). And if you have any other cool projects going on, email us at email@example.com to let us know and we might be able to give you a shout out. We want to support you as much as we can! That being said, you should probably personally tell your mom and all your friends about your cool shirts for sale since we don’t have their phone numbers.
DO I KEEP THE RIGHTS TO MY ART ONCE IT’S ON THE SITE?
YES, YES, YES, You most certainly do! InksterInc isn’t some Ocean’s 11/Italian Job art heist scheme. Most of the Inkster Team is made of artists too! Artists retain ALL RIGHTS to the artwork and we will never use your work without your permission. Your shirts are your own, we are just the platform you sell them on. The only place we’ll ever use your images other than on your shirts is for promotional purposes and on social media. We will always link back to the original design. Where applicable, we will also strive to provide links to your personal website and social media pages. Furthermore, if you ever want to stop selling with us, you can take your designs down at any time. We understand how important it is to retain the rights your own work, and on InksterInc, you always will.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE MY SHIRT?
All of our shirts are made to order and sprinkled with love, so it may take 5-7 business days to print.
WHAT’S YOUR SHIPPING POLICY?
For everyone in the United States shipping is a flat rate of $6.99. Because of NAFTA its $11.99 for Canada and Mexico. For everywhere else in the world its $21.99. This one isn’t funny. I’ll try harder on the next one. Sorry.
PLEASE NOTE: SHIPPING COSTS DO NOT INCLUDE ANY CUSTOMS OR OTHER INTERNATIONAL FEES. INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ADDITIONAL FEES OUTSIDE OF WHAT YOU HAVE PAID FOR SHIPPING. THESE FEES ARE OUT OF OUR CONTROL AND INKSTERINC TAKES NO RESPONSIBILITY. YOU WILL NOT BE REFUNDED OR COMPENSATED FOR ADDITIONAL CHARGES.
WHAT’S YOUR RETURN POLICY?
Send it back, friend. If you don’t like the shirt (shocking, I know right! But let’s pretend,) then send it back to us. We’ll gladly replace it for another shirt. You just have to pay for shipping. Mail people gotta eat. Even if you just want an outright refund, we do that too, just send us back the shirt!
That being said, if we make the mistake (I know, I know, it’s hard for us to imagine too,) we’ll gladly refund/change your shirt free of charge. If you need an exchange for a mistake we made, we will send you a prepaid return label so that you can send it back to us at no cost. These include wrong color shirts, wrong sizes, forgetting a shirt in a large order, or even just the wrong design entirely. Not that this happens…ever…NOPE.
THIS SHIRT, IT’S SO SOFT, WHAT IS IT MADE OF?
A 200% pure extract of love! And maybe high-quality 100% ring-spun cotton. Maybe.
WHAT TYPE OF PRINTING METHOD DO YOU USE?
Shirt Gremlins*! They are like Keebler Elves, but they live in Philadelphia and don’t know anything about cookies. Our team uses the direct to garment technique, utilizing our high-tech, top-of-the-line digital printer. Do you know screen printing? Good, It’s nothing like screen printing! Which is why our designs come out looking cleaner, stay longer, and keep the shirts softer.
*All Shirt Gremlins are paid a fair wage in accordance with Gremlins Fair Wage Laws Act 42:711
WHAT KIND OF IMAGES CAN I UPLOAD?
Art. That being said, use your best judgement. No distasteful nudity, no hard drug references, nothing racist or sexist, and nothing that would be illegal. We reserve the right to remove anything from the site we feel may violate these things, but for the most part, if you’re unsure, just ask! (And hey, use the templates! They’re there to make sure your files are perfect!)
WHY ISN'T THE SHIRT I JUST UPLOADED AVAILABLE YET?
We have to approve all of our shirts manually so it can take some time. We do our best to make your designs available within 24 business hours but if we're having a large influx of uploads it may take 5-7 days to see your shirt on the site. If you do not see your design within a week, shoot us an email.
ONE OF THE SHIRTS I UPLOADED DISAPPEARED. WHAT HAPPENED?
Well, assuming the above isn’t a problem, we reserve the right to remove a shirt that hasn’t had any sales within a month or so to keep the site clean and running smoothly. But don’t freak out, we don’t remove shirts often, and if we feel the design is awesome and has tons of potential or just hasn’t had a chance yet we will leave it up. After all we really like to show off your work. Just make sure that you show it off too!
NOTE: If some of your designs have been removed after the site changeover, you may just need to reupload them. We're sorry! Email us if you have any questions.
HOW DO I ENTER A CONTEST?
When you upload your design, you’ll have an option to enter it into the contest category. Simple as that. To enter a design that is already on the site, simply go to your Dashboard, click “edit” and select the contest category. (When you do this, your changes must be re-approved, so allow about 24 hours for your design to be live again).
WHAT HAPPENS IF I WIN?
…oh wow, what a great question! First place receives $100 in store credit and becomes featured artist of the month. We will run a month-long sale of your designs. Your shop will appear on a banner, in the “featured artist” category, and be heavily promoted on social media. Second place wins a free shirt! So that’s nice.
CAN I WIN MORE THAN ONE CONTEST?
Yes! Well…kind of, in order to give exposure and support to as many artists as possible, you will only be eligible to win again after a 12 month grace period. However, we still encourage you to enter your shirts into the contest category if they fit the theme so that people can browse and shop for them there!
WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO WASH THE SHIRTS?
We recommend you wash them inside-out, in cold water. We don’t recommend lava, hellfire, or bleach.
INKSTER SEEMS PRETTY HAPPENING, HOW DO I GET MORE INVOLVED?
Ah, why, thank you, internet person! That means a lot to us. There are a number of ways to get involved with InksterInc. The first being social media. Say hello to us! We love to talk with the Inkster Community. We also have parties regularly for those of you who want to come to Philadelphia (always looking for new musicians/DJs too!) We also make videos, check out our YouTube Channels InksterInc & InksterCommunity. If you want your own artists video feature we will make you one at no cost to you. We can do them in person or via skype. Even if you just have a funny idea or want to collaborate with us, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
YOU MENTIONED CHARITIES? WHAT UP WITH THAT?
That’s InksterCares! It is our non-profit charity driven side of Community Impact Apparel. If you know any non-profit organization looking to brand themselves in a new or fun way we’d love to help. We all have those “charity shirts” in the bottom of our drawers that we only wear to mow the lawn, work out, or do laundry, well InksterCares says, “NO MORE!” We help organizations design shirts that people actually want to wear. Similar to an artist on the site, we donate $5 for every shirt we sell. It’s a great way to order bulk shirts cheaply for your event or organization and to get money back by directing people to our site to buy more individually. We also have a dedicated team of artists who will gladly help you in shirt design, even from scratch! InksterCares isn’t about simply ordering shirts, it’s about making an impact, we simply do it one shirt at a time.
CAN I ORDER CUSTOM SHIRTS/BULK ORDERS?
Of course you can! We take any order, big or small. If you have a design for a t-shirt, we’re your team. There are even special rates we offer depending on how many shirts you buy, even as low as 10 shirts. To learn more about that, simply email us at email@example.com and we’ll get back to you ASAP. For a small additional fee we can even help you modify your existing shirt design or make one from scratch. We aim to please!
