NEW Starter Elements Designs!

By Sam Ortiz 2 years ago No comments

For these 3 designs I incorporated the fire, water, and grass symbol from the the Pokemon card game.

FIRE

Fire - by Sam Ortiz

I felt that the smoke helped with the whole aesthetic. The fire design was the most complex to make. The sparks surround the symbol were a last minute inclusion that brought everything together.

GRASS

Grass - by Sam Ortiz

This might be my favorite design (I have a soft spot for grass-types) and this was also the first one I finished too. The grass that pops out of the circle actually had wood there originally to resemble trees. The brown popped out to much from the green so I removed it. The kanji for grass was the hardest to draw. After a few tries I’m pretty happy with how it looks.

WATER

Water - by Sam Ortiz

The water symbol was the simplest of the designs but it took me the longest to finalize. The water splatter also took a while to create. At first I was drawing realistic bubbles to surround the whole thing but it looked too out of place. I added the more cartoony water splashes and that meshed much better. This one no question took the longest out of the other designs.
